US forces conducted six precision airstrikes in Libya against an ISIS desert camp on Friday, killing 17 ISIS militants and destroying three vehicles, US Africa Command (AFRICOM) has reported.

The General Electricity Company said on Sunday that it had started work with a specialized company to carry out maintenance work on a 400 kV cable in the first turbine of the Sirte steam power station. The company noted that the cable was exposed during the past few months to technical failures, which caused in the halting of the first turbine of the power station, adding that the maintenance process may last for 15 days.

The National Human Rights Commission in Libya has condemned the exploitation of humanitarian and living crises in the country to achieve political gains.
In a statement, the commission stressed that freedom of opinion, expression and demonstration has been used as an instrument by some parties to modify the political convention, referring to the calls for protests on 25th of September.

The Ministry of Defense of the Presidential Council called on Sunday on all conflicting parties in Sabratha for an immediate ceasefire. On its Facebook page, the ministry denied giving orders to any party in Sabratha to fight, demanding an end to the military operations and to save the city from destruction. The ministry stressed its rejection of the infighting in Sabratha and dismayed the fatalities on both sides, bearing the legal responsibility for those who do not comply with the orders of the ministry to cease immediately.

One person was killed and 14 others were injured when a fuel truck collided with a checkpoint in Kabaw town in Nafusa Mountain in western Libya. Eyewitnesses said that the fuel truck intentionally targeted the checkpoint after trying to escape from being stopped. Members of a civil movement in Kabaw - calling itself, "yes for change" and seeking to fight the scourge of fuel smuggling in the town, said that they had set up the checkpoint to protect the town, which is suffering from shortage of fuel due to the ongoing smuggling, in the complete absence of the Directorate of Security.

Several angry residents of Tobruk have closed the only landfill in the city irreversibly after expanding in a number of residential neighborhoods. The residents confirmed that the landfill poses a danger to their lives due to smoke and toxic fumes that straddles the area. The City Council began a search for another location after citizens pledged to prevent any car or truck from entering the site. The closure of the landfill caused in the pervasiveness and accumulation of litter on the roads and main streets, which led local sources to declare fears of a major environmental disaster in the city if no other alternatives were found.

A woman was found alive in front of Benghazi Medical Center with signs of torture on Sunday. After being treated in the center, she was identified as Najah Al-Thani, a resident of the Tablino neighborhood in Benghazi. She was abducted outside women's Eve World Club by a gang of women who, according to local media reports, injected her with narcotic substance and put her in a car. The abductors later contacted her family demanding a ransom for her release. After hours of paying the ransom, she was found in front of the center with visible signs of torture on her body. The identity of abductors is yet to be known.
