A letter written by the Administration of the General Authority of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in eastern government of Al-Thanni unveiled how it had given permission for a Saudi Arabian sheikh, who is of Palestinian descent, Osama Ataya Al-Etibi, to proselytize and give religious preaching, seminars, and lectures in the areas he desired in coordination with the districts’ Awqaf and Islamic Affairs offices.

Libyan and Tunisian officials at the Ras Ajdair border agreed – temporarily – on Friday to resume the trading of commodities via the border crossing in the four coming days on a gradual basis before a Libyan-Libyan meeting takes place Saturday to finalize the agreement.

The Western region of Libya, including Tripoli, plunged into darkness on Saturday. The General Electricity Company (GECOL) said the region from Ras Ajdir near the border with Tunisia in west Libya to Ajdabia town in the east has been hit with a total blackout.

The spokesman of the Man-Made River system, Tawfiq Al-Shwihdi, said the repair teams had finished fixing Al-Khums water station that was attacked by unidentified persons days ago. He added that they also fixed the southern water track that goes through Al-Khums and Tamala valley, adding that water supplies will return to normal (500.000 m2) on Saturday.

Libya’s national soccer team has retreated 4 positions on the FIFA World Rankings List. On Thursday, Libya was placed 89 internationally, and 22 in Africa, retreating 2 positions, while it was ranked 8 on the Arab teams' list.

Libyan oil vessel, Anwar Libya, arrived in Tripoli port on Friday with 33.000.000 liters of fuel onboard in a bid to distribute the fuel to the gas stations. The fuel and gas crisis committee said the shortage of diesel fuel is caused by the shutdown of the gas pipeline that feeds power plants and by using diesel fuel to keep them working so as to save the western region from a total blackout.

Libyan Olympic Commission called on the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) to adhere to the laws of the official system that is used by all of the sports federations. The call came after the General Assembly of the LFF violated – in its unconventional meeting in mid-September last year – the norms of the official system by granting the Libyan League (First Division) teams five votes while giving only one vote for the rest of the teams at the LFF elections.

Clashes between Benghazi Shura Council (BSC) revolutionaries and Khalifa Haftar’s Dignity Operation forces renewed in Busanib district, according to Saraya Center, the media arm of the BSC, which added that Haftar’s warplanes air attacked the district 12 times, including some air raids on Ganfouda, western Benghazi.
