The Education Ministry denied stoppage of study on Sunday over calls for strike advocated on Facebook pages, reaffirming that all schools will be open on Sunday as usual. It also called on all the teaching and administrative staff as well as the students’ parents not to care about those rumors, which it said were meant to hinder the ongoing educational process.

The spokesman of the Sirte Municipality, Mohammed Al-Ameel, said about 36 schools reopened in the areas liberated from IS militants in Sirte, adding that study has resumed in all of them. He added that the schools are located in southern, eastern and western Sirte suburbs, indicating that schools in Sirte’s city center will resume study once the fighting ends in the seaside Jiza neighborhood.

The Central Bank of Libya flew in a new sum of Libyan dinar banknotes from the Britain. The CBL said it would distribute the sum to all banks nationwide in the coming few days.

Intermittent gunshots exchange and clashes were reported late on Thursday and early on Friday in Sabha, leading to explosives falling on residential areas in the city, sources from the city said. Sabha Medical Center said two killed persons and six injured ones arrived at the center afterward.

Zintan International Rally ended on Friday with the participation of 20 contesters, including only one non-Libyan participant (from Tunisia). The Rally was launched last Wednesday for 4×4 cars and motorcycles. The race was divided into three phases setting off from Ben Dagish desert area in Al-Hamada Al-Hamraa, 500 km away from Zintan.

The Tunisian Foreign Ministry renewed its call on the Libyan authorities to release the Tunisian anglers who have been held in Libyan for 2 weeks now. In a statement, the Tunisian FM said the Libyan authorities promised to tackle the issue as soon as possible.  Libyan Navy arrested four Tunisian trawlers with 54 fishermen on board in the Libyan territorial waters.

The Tripoli University Students Union said it talked to the university’s administration about the joining of the strike in the capital and the administration reassured it that it is untrue and was fabricated on social media, adding that exams will take place this week as scheduled.
