The Head of the Presidential Council of the UN-proposed government, Fayez Al-Sirraj, said it is time to unite Libya and save it from the crisis it is going through, adding that everyone is to blame for what has become of the country nowadays.

The Municipality of Zuwara held a meeting on Saturday with the municipal office of projects, the Development Authority of Administrative Centers, the Housing and Utilities Project Authority and the Director of the Marine Resources in Zuwara.

The official at the automatic inspection unit of Misrata Customs Department told the press that they seized Saturday two containers laden with huge amounts of hashish, saying they are still inspecting the cargo that has come from Lattakia port in Syria.

A rodent control campaign was launched in the old town area of Tripoli under the supervision of the prevention Office of Tripoli Public Services Company and under the auspices of the Tripoli Municipal Council on Sunday. The campaign also included the safeguarding of cemeteries located within the municipality of central Tripoli and is a continuation of previous campaigns carried out by the Prevention Office in many schools and other places where rodents have spread.

Sunday marked the beginning of exams for the completion of secondary education in the scientific and literary sections of the academic year 2016/2017. Approximately 58,460 students in all public and private schools and 48 educational zones in Libya will sit these exams in an effort to further their education.

The total number of fires and accidents recorded between February and May of this year was 321. The National Safety Authority published a summary detailing each month and the incidents and fires that occurred per month. The summery indicated that the month of May recorded most cases averaging which totaled at 119, while the month of February registered 61 cases.

A training course in the field of documentation and archaeological surveying which was carried out and supervised by a scientific team from the University of Durham in the UK, concluded in Sfax, Tunisia on Saturday. The course which lasted for one month included a team from the Libyan Antiquities Authority and another from Tunisia. Field training was conducted at the archeological site Yunga in Al Mahras city and participants were trained in field surveying and documentation using Total Station systems designed for recording geophysics, pottery classification, GPS use in documentation, and how to prepare the database using GIS.

The management of Ghat General Hospital has stated that the hospital is unable to accept any new births as a result of a incubators being out of service due to frequent interruption in the electricity grid in the city. The hospital is also lacking medical staff which also makes it impossible to take on new maternity cases. Hospital administration said in a statement on Saturday that the various departments of the hospital suffered problems for several days due to the continuous fluctuation of electricity and blackouts for long hours leading to a significant decline in the hospitals capability to provide basic health services to the citizens of the city.

The Libyan weightlifter Hani Matouq won two gold and one silver medals during his participation in the African Weightlifting Championship held in Mauritius. More than 15 African countries took part in the championship which saw Matouq take the gold medal for the snatch competition at 146 kg which was five kilos more than his Tunisian rival Rami Bahloul who came second. Matouq took the silver medal in the main lift at 173 kg and a gold one for the total by 319 kg.

According to the Department of Communication and Information of the UN proposed Government, a delegation from the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Libya visited the Ministry of Justice during the past two days. The head of the Judicial Police, Colonel Mahmoud Abuhameida, met with the Libyan-British cooperation in the Development and Improvement of Prisons where through previous agreements the two parties decided to continue working together. The meeting, according to the same source was within the framework of the Ministry's continuing want to develop institutions in the areas of reform and rehabilitation, improving the conditions of prisoners, and the treatment of prisoners in accordance with international human rights standards.

Zuwara Reform Group, in cooperation with the Central Security Directorate, the Security Room, the Passport office and the Municipal Guard of Zuwara, closed sites where random fuel sales took place in the area. These sites usually sell fuel to smugglers in the area. The group also warned all those working in this profession to vacate the site during week and a group began working on the removal of stalls and shops that engage in the trade of gasoline and diesel illegally.
