A Dignity Operation senior commander has admitted involvement in the deadly clashes in the western city of Zawiya earlier this week. The self-proclaimed military governor of east Libya Abdelraziq Al-Nathori said in a footage posted in social media that groups loyal to Dignity Operation have engaged in the fight in Zawiya and they will take control of it.

Traghan mayor Mohammed Al-Bakori has been abducted by armed groups, his family says, while reason of abduction is still unknown. Traghan is a small town in southwest Libya.

Contractors close Tobruk Municipality in east Libya on Thursday demanding payment of their dues.

Abdelraziq Al-Nathori, the military governor of the eastern region, appointed Colonel Abdul-Aziz Saad as the mayor of Al-Abyar municipality. Al-Nathori had previously sacked a number of elected mayors and replaced them with officers and military men in a bid to regain the military reign in the east.

A shipment of LYD200 million arrived in Tripoli-based Mitiga Airport from Britain on Thursday, the third one in a month to bring the total amount of cash to LYD 1 billion.
