The Netherlands has opened a diplomatic office in Tripoli as a first step towards full return, the European country’s Ambassador to Libya Eric Strating announces.

The Libyan joint committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of State (HCS) resumed Thursday at the UNSMIL's headquarters in Tunis after three days of suspension of the withdrawal of the HoR members.

The director of the Medical Affairs Department at the Tobruk Medical Center, Dr. Adnan Boudiya, has warned of an impending health disaster in Tobruk city due to a lack of electricity.

Boudiya stated that the depletion of operating materials at the Tobruk Steam Power Plant has ceased operation at the plant, which caused a negative impact on Tobruk Medical Center and the kidney Department in particular.

Boudiya issued an urgent appeal to all rival governments and their bodies to address this matter, which can’t be solved by temporary solutions, according to him.

A bus carrying eight Libyan citizens collided with a fuel truck on the coastal road west of Sirte, causing the death of the bus driver after the bus rolled then set on fire.

The eight passengers sustained moderate to serious injuries while the fuel truck rolled onto the middle of the road without setting on fire.

Medical and fire services were on the scene and transported the wounded to Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte.

Traffic was returned to normal on the coastal road after it was cleaned from any remnants of the accident by the Public Utilities for Cleaning, Water and Sanitation Company.

Libyan Airlines has cancelled its flights to the Tunisian capital of Tunis until further notice due to the damage sustained by one of its aircraft during Migita Airport tensions.

The aircraft, which the airliner uses for flights to Tunisia, was hit with gunshots during the exchange of fire, which spanned the past two days in the district of ​​Ghararat, south of the airport.

The Airbus A330-202 is now undergoing maintenance work.

Armed clashes broke out in the Ghararat over the past two days, between the Special Deterrence Force and local gunmen resulted in the closure of the air aviation several times and the airport was evacuated for safety reasons.

The Vice Chairman of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Maiteeq, held talks Wednesday with the South Korean Ambassador for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs Han Dong-Man on bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting also discussed the return of Korean companies to complete their projects in Libya.

The South Korean official stressed the intention of his country to support Libya and help in the crisis that the country is experiencing, expressing his country's desire to expand their activities in many vital sectors and in various fields.

The Libyan Cycling Federation announced that they will hold Libya Championship in November with the participation of fifty cyclists, representing fourteen clubs from across the country, to select the best cyclists to represent Libya abroad.

The Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Cycling Federation, Mohammed Al-Toumi, said that the rules for the championship have been set up and the roads were chosen.

He added that when choosing the roads all problems were taken into consideration, including the security situation.

The Libyan cycling team will participate in the Arab Championship in Egypt at the end of November.

The oasis town of Waddan will host this year’s Desert Rally in early November, which will last for three days.

Al-Qalaa Sports Club in Waddan is scheduled to be the starting point for the race. The race ends at the sands of TT in the heart of the desert, 25 kilometres from Wadan.

The festival will also include cultural and artistic activities, a folklore show, and horse and air shows that will include paragliding and parasailing.

The Presidential Council Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Sayala, has met with the Secretary General of the Austrian-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Mudar Al-Khoja, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Libya, Mohammed Al-Ruaid.

Al-Khoja stressed that his visit to Libya aims to convey the desire of Austrian companies with investment projects in Libya to return and resume their work, especially construction, oil and gas projects.

He added that Austrian companies in various specialties have a great interest in the Libyan market after receiving reassuring messages regarding security and stability.

Libyan Coast Guard rescued Wednesday 138 migrants off the coast of Garabulli town, including four women, while on board a rubber boat that crashed and nearly drowned.

The Coast Guard said that all migrants, most of whom were from the Maghreb and a few African nationalities, were rescued and transported to the Tripoli naval base.

They were provided medical and humanitarian and then sent to Tajoura shelter.

The rescue operation comes a day after Libyan Coast Guard rescued 121 illegal immigrants off Garabulli.

.The Grand Mufti of Libya, Sheikh Sadiq Al-Gharyani, has warned about those who are calling for the destruction of cities and the displacement of their people

The Mufti denounced on his weekly program on Tanasuh TV on Wednesday the threats of Dignity Operation top commander Khalifa Haftar to attack western Libyan cities and towns on the pretext of fighting terror. 

He also praised the reconciliation efforts in Zawiya city, in particular the efforts of the tribe of Awlad Saqr who confirmed that they will not allow a war to take place in their city.
