Olive oil prices soared this season due to less production ratio this year, which is considered the least compared to the last five years, as rainfall had been so little last winter and production costs ascended amid the drop of the dinar’s value. One liter of olive oil has reached 15 dinars in some areas.

National Oil Corporation said it had put out the fire that broke out in Al-Sarir oilfield’s power station (No.2) of Al-Khalij Al-Arabi Oil Company. The fire was caused due to electric failures on Sunday. The NOC added that Libya’s oil production dropped by 60 thousand bpd due to the suspension of work in the oilfield.

The coach of Libya’s national soccer team, Jalal Al-Damja, said he is dismayed at the carelessness of the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) regarding the Libyan national team. Al-Sidra oil terminal’s supervisor of the Al-Waha Oil Company said the Malta-flagged oil tanker Monterey docked at the terminal to load 630 thousand barrels and ship them to Italy. He also said that this vessel is the second to arrive in Al-Sidra in the last two weeks, adding that oil exportation from the terminal is working according to the National Oil Corporation’s schedules.

HoR member and the head of the control committee for the National Oil Corporation, Yousif Al-Agori, said if the oil production revenue continues to go to the bank account of the Tripoli-based NOC, they will shut down the oil exportation once again as they cannot let Libyans’ money be squandered and messed with, he added.
