The Misrata Municipality, Misrata Notables Council, Central Military Zone Operations Chamber and Air Force Emergency Operation Room all condemned the dangerous military escalation in the Libyan southern region that included airstrikes on Al-Jufra airbase on Tuesday morning.

The Mayor of Al-Jufra, Fouad Rashid, said a warplane of Dignity Operation forces bombed Wednesday morning the location of Tagrift Martyrs Brigade of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos Operation.

The member of the Constitution Drafting Assembly, Abdelmonem Al-Sahrif, said the CDA members elected Noah Al-Maghrabi as the Chairperson to succeed Ali Al-Tarhouni, who was dismissed by a court ruling. Al-Sharif added that Noah Al-Maghrabi won the post after competing against Omar Al-Naas, Maryem Al-Shaari, and Saad Taleb.

Spokesman of the Third Force, Mohammed Gliwan, said southern tribesmen efforts are underway to make Mohammed Ben Nayel leave the airbase of Barak Al-Shatti peacefully and spare the south any foreseeable bloodshed. He added that their forces temporarily stopped advancing toward the airbase so that the notables’ efforts for handing over the airbase peacefully can go on smoothly, indicating that the Third Force will hand over Gweret Al-Mal checkpoint to Sabha security apparatus after a proper protection is made.

The head of the humanitarian affairs in Derna, Abdelsalam Al-Drewi, said cooking gas cylinders are under everyone’s nose in the city after four trucks laden with cylinders have been allowed to enter Derna on a daily basis. Derna has been suffering from the lack of cooking gas for almost three months. Al-Drewi added that the fuel shortage will also end soon.

Ibrahim Bushanaq refused to accept the Minister of Justice post at the UN-proposed government after he was nominated by the Presidential Council member, Fathi Al-Mijibri. Bushanaq urged the Tobruk-based HoR to assume its responsibilities and find a solution content to all parties to break off the political stalemate away from all agendas but the Libyan interests.

Several young men from Imsaed city in eastern Libya stormed into the municipal council of the city, ransacked, and burnt it in protest of not being given jobs following promises made by the municipality.

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) elected Abdelatheem Al-Ferawi, as the winner of Benghazi Main Electoral Unit, which is the first branch of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA), in the place of Ali Al-Tarhouni, who was dismissed as a CDA member by a court ruling.

North Tripoli Appeals Court halted the decision of the Presidential Council (PC) to appoint an interim committee for the GECOL, saying the decisions made by that committee are all void, as the PC has not yet been approved as per the political agreement signed in Skhirat.
