Africa Intelligence news website reported that the Italian firm, Aeneas, which was contracted for rebuilding Tripoli International Airport passengers terminal, is a fake company that was created for the sake of signing the contract and disappeared a day after the signing.

The United Nations human rights body has urged Khalifa Haftar’s self-styled army in east Libya to set a probe into summary executions of captives, demanding it to suspend the notorious killer Captain Mahmoud Al-Wirfalli.

The Libyan Football Federation announced the cancellation of the friendly match scheduled to be played by the Libyan national team against Morocco in Tunisia. Hussein Fartis, who works in the administration department, explained that Morocco decided to cancel the game, but there is enough technical framework for there to be one friendly match against Egypt in early August.

The first meeting of the Higher Policy Committee took place and on the agenda was the coordination and assistance by the international community to improve the living conditions of Libyans, known as the United Nations Stabilization Facility in Libya. The meeting was chaired by the head of the UN proposed Presidential Council, Fayez Sarraj and also in attendance was the head of the World Health Organization mission in Libya, representatives of international financial and economic institutions, the Ambassador of the European Union and also the ambassadors of Germany, Britain, France, Italy, South Korea, Turkey and the Netherlands. Libyan attendees included the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Minister for Planning and Local Governance officials.

According to the media office of the Antiquities Authority in Tobruk, a citizen by the name of Abdulmoula Saif Al-Nasr handed in the statue known as Keesh Amun after finding it in an area called Qarya, north of a place known as the Cave of Omar Mukhtar. The man who found the statue, handed it over to the Artifacts Monitor of Tobruk, who in turn traveled to the site to inspect it where they then found a statue of a woman with little of her features remaining.

Armed clashes took place between two groups of drug dealers using medium and light weapons in the city of Derna on Tuesday morning. The clashes did not result in anyone being killed or wounded, but did cause panic among residents of the region. A source from the Derna Shura Revolutionary Council said that security unit worked in cooperation with the Security Directorate to arrest the culprits after a quick intervention by them on the matter and that the operation did not record any material damage or loss of life.

An armed group called the Brigades of Blood Revenge, which is an armed civilian militia loyal to Khalifa Hafter, expelled a delegation from the High Council for National Reconciliation from its headquarters in the eastern city of Bayda. A member of the delegation stated that the gunmen stormed a meeting which included the delegation members and MPs from the House of Representatives, causing the cancellation of the meeting by force.

The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has agreed with Khums Municipal Council to form a joint technical committee. The committee will also include the participation of experts from specialized research centers to study emissions who work at the Khums electricity generation plant. GECOL explained on their official Facebook page that the committee will determine the impact of emissions from the Khums electricity station on the environment, and find appropriate solutions to address any problems that may be revealed by the study.

The head of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanallah, announced that the NOC has established a fund of five million Dinars dedicated as urgent support to the city of Benghazi. This payment comes under the framework of providing support to all Libyan regions in an effort to restore normal life to any areas affected by war. The announcement was made after a meeting took place between Sanalla and the Mayor of Benghazi Abdulrahman Abbar at the headquarters of the Gulf Oil Company today. The NOC has announced in the past that it will finance the building of the headquarters of the Security Directorate of Benghazi in it's former location in the Huwari region of the city of Benghazi.

The head of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority, Nasr Din Shaib Al-Ain, confirmed in a press statement that there are three foreign airlines, including an Italian and Turkish company wishing to operate flights to Tripoli after several field visits to Matiga Airport, situated in the capital. The companies are expected to resume flights to Libya in the very near future.
