An armed group attacked fuel trucks belonging to the Arab Association for Oil Transport in Bay valley, southwest of Sirte, while on their way to the oil depots in Sabha, the Fuel and Gas Crisis Committee (FAGCC) said on its Facebook page on Wednesday.

Two representatives of Zintan in the House of Representatives, AbdulSalam Naseeh and Omar Qarmil, called on Aqeela Saleh, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fayez Sarraj, President of the Presidential Council and Khalifa Hafter to all visit Zintan and hold a tripartite meeting. The two deputies made the invitation, which was announced on Tuesday, declared that the purpose of the visit is to discuss ways to move the political process forward and unite the different views within the framework of the political agreement which was signed in Skhirat.

Vice-President of the UN proposed Presidential Council, Ahmed Mateeq, discussed the coordination of the return of Italian companies to work in Libya with Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano on Tuesday. Alfano expressed his country's desire to contribute to stronger stability in Libya according to the outcome of the political agreement. Mateeq arrived in Rome on Monday evening heading a delegation of ministers of the UN proposed government at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni.

The head of the Information Department of the Ministry of Health in the Interim Government, Moataz Trabelsi, said a US medical team specializing in open-heart surgery arrived at the Benghazi Medical Center on Monday to conduct more than 40 surgeries on children who are pre-registered cases of heart problems in Libya. Trabelsi added that it took several attempts to reach the agreements that have been signed through between the Ministry of Health and an American foundation of heart surgeons, to cover the cost of ensuring the arrival of the team to the country and to provide the necessary treatment services for the patients.

The President of the Presidential Council of the UN proposed government, 
Fayez Sarraj, held a meeting with the Executive Director of the National Shipping Company Khalid Touati. The meeting dealt with the general situation of the company in terms of the technical operations of the fleet and also discussed problems that hinder the resumption of the company’s sailings, both locally and internationally. Sarraj promised his commitment to provide full support for the company, especially for the reintroduction of cruise ship sailings to start as soon as possible.

The Presidential Guard of the Presidential Council have released a statement which says that one of their units is to secure Tripoli International Airport, stressing that the force will be composed of officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers from various areas of Libya. The army unit added in their statement that they are "A disciplined force, following the Supreme Commander of the Libyan army currently lead by the Presidential Council". The statement also stated that their loyalty is to God and country and that they have no loyalty to any political party, city or tribe. The statement concluded with the Presidential Guard declaring that they are not be seen as a substitute for the army or as an obstacle to its reconstruction, as some may believe.

The Illegal Immigration Agency in Tripoli has announced that they deported 109 Nigerian nationals back to their homeland via Matiga International Airport. The deportation was carried out in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which is sponsoring the voluntary repatriation program for stranded migrants in Libya who fail to reach Europe.

The Misratin political bloc signed off the final documents regarding the Misrata/Tawargha Agreement, designed to facilitate the return of the displaced and to compensate those affected. The bloc also demanded in its statement on Tuesday that the Presidential Council and the Central Bank of Libya honor their proposals and call for the implementation of the agreement to be finalised.

The deputy minister in the Ministry of Education of the UN proposed government, Adel Jumaa, stated that the ministry would begin to restore dilapidated educational institutions in various cities and areas of Libya. Jumaa said that maintenance work is expected to begin after the Eid al-Fitr holiday and that they would target the most neglected institutions as a priority.

The United Nations Security Council approved the appointment of former Lebanese Culture Minister Ghassan Salame as the new UN envoy to Libya on Tuesday. This move would effectively end a controversial four-month-old search.
