The Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Raisedon Zenenga, has reaffirmed that there is no military solution to the electoral and executive political impasse in Libya.

During his meeting with a delegation from the city of Misrata, on Tuesday, he pointed out that the aspiration of the Libyan people is to choose their leaders and renew the legitimacy of institutions through democratic elections, according to a tweet on UNSMIL Twitter account.

UNSMIL noted that Misrata delegation presented its ideas on ways to resolve the political crisis in Libya, stressing that the United Nations prioritizes working with all Libyan parties to facilitate concluding of an agreement on a path to national elections as soon as possible.
