The Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) has called on the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, to implement the decision to increase salaries for workers in the oil sector issued eight years ago, which provides for an increase of 67%.

In a statement on Sunday, the NOC called for justice among public sector employees, warning the government of what it called “ignoring the oil sector,” which will lead to the employees turnover, to work in other jobs in the state sectors with more advantages and higher salaries.

The NOC stressed the difficult conditions and high risks under which oil sector employees work in all offshore and desert sites, calling the government to implement the increase stipulated years ago.
