The National Oil Corporation has completed the construction of a gas line for the Zuwara desalination plant at a cost of $7.3 million.

According to the NOC, the 10-km long gas line linking the Mellitah complex to the Zuwara desalination plant will benefit 300,000 people in Zuwara and neighbouring cities.

The station will help rationalize fuel consumption and reduce the depletion of state resources, the NOC explains, noting that the Zuwara desalination plant is the only station producing potable water.

The gas line will secure a smooth and continuous supply of gas to the Zuwara desalination plant instead of liquid fuel, the NOC added.
