The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has denied the news circulating in social media about the presence of members of foreign forces protecting a number of Libyan oil fields and installations.
The NOC confirmed in a statement on its Facebook page, that the Libyan men affiliated with the various national security and military institutions are able to secure these facilities, which constitute an important part of the capabilities of the Libyan people.
It denounced what it described as “false claims and misleading news,” calling on media institutions to ensure accuracy and commitment to credibility, follow journalistic professional standards, and verify the authenticity of information before publishing it.
