The National Oil Corporation (NOC) said on Wednesday that there had been a slight delay in fuel distribution from the Raquba oil field, but production was not affected despite threats from protesters.

The NOC stated that distribution problems occurred between the Raquba field and Brega port on Tuesday, adding that it can confirm that production of oil at the field is continuing despite threats from local protesters to close the field, stressing that there has been no damage to the field or oil wells.

Earlier, a group of jobless youngsters in the desert oasis town of Maradah, northeastern Libya, threatened to close the oil fields in their region unless their demands to improve services in their town are met.
