The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayeh, discussed Thursday in Tripoli with the US envoy and ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, and his accompanying delegation, developments in the electoral process.

Norland reaffirmed US support for the HNEC's efforts to achieve free and fair elections that reflect the will of the Libyan voters, hailing at the same time the efforts undertaken by the HNEC in dealing with the previous electoral stages, HNEC said in a statement.

The meeting also reviewed ways to strengthen proposals and endeavors that seek peace and stability and aim to achieve consensus among political parties to eventually get the best results for Libyans.
