Libya has joined forces with North African countries in adopting a regional "Blue Economy" strategy designed to ensure the sustainable use of marine resources.
The initiative, finalized during a workshop in Egypt, brought together over 30 experts and representatives from the Arab Maghreb Union countries, including Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, and Egypt, as reported by the Middle East News Agency on Saturday.
According to Duaa Hammam, Director of International Agreements at Egypt’s Fisheries and Lakes Development Authority, the strategy is critical for fostering regional cooperation and protecting shared marine ecosystems.
