The Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered the imprisonment of the commercial director of Ghadames Airlines, on charges of legal violations.
According to the Attorney General, investigations proved that the company’s aircraft transported hundreds of people wishing to enter the territory of the United States through the Republic of Nicaragua, in violation of immigration rules.
Investigations also resulted in that the company not complying with national legislation related to immigration, as well as the requirements emanating from ratified international instruments, especially the Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air, supplementing the United Nations Convention against Organized Crime.
