The head of the investigations department within the Attorney General's Office, Siddiq AlSour, revealed in a press statement Tuesday that a number of oil company officials were arrested as a result of investigations into financial corruption cases.

AlSour reiterated that the Attorney General’s office in Tripoli had previously released warrants for a number of managers and representatives of oil companies effectively banning them from travel as investigations into cases relating to oil smuggling, financial excesses, non-payment of state debts and the establishment of fake gas stations were ongoing.
