A local source in Benghazi confirmed the abduction of the manager of the Al-Rahila Oil Services Company, Faraj Al-Abdali, by gunmen from so-called Battalion 106, led by Khalid Khalifa Haftar.

According to the source, Al-Abdali was taken from the headquarters of the company to an unknown destination, clarifying that his abduction might be linked to his intention to stand as a candidate in the upcoming elections.

Al-Abdali is the cousin of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior of the Presidential Council, Faraj Qaiem, and was among the persons who demanded Haftar to release him.
