A statement made by Militia Oil and Gas Company which operates at AbuTefal oil field situated in south eastern Libya said that the Golden Bosphorus oil tanker left the port of Zouitina on Thursday with 600,000 barrels of crude oil in its first shipment in three years.
The news agency Reuters quoted an official at the oil field as saying that the company is producing eighty five thousand barrels of crude oil per day one month after of re-opening.
The official also stated that the field began production again smoothly after the removal of sediment stuck in the pipelines which if continues on track will likely increase production to 100 thousand barrels per day in the near future.
