The First Scientific Conference for Ophthalmology, hosted by the Tripoli Eye Hospital, was held on Thursday, in the presence of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and his Deputy who is also Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Jannah.
800 ophthalmology specialists from 10 Arab and foreign countries took part in the conference, which aims to raise the efficiency of Libyan doctors through training in order to localize treatment at home.
The conference included scientific lectures and workshops, and training sessions of junior doctors on surgical operations using animal eyes. It also included live relay of surgical operations from the hospital to conference halls.
