Libya Coast Guard said its Tajoura patrol managed Wednesday to save 82 migrants and recover one body after their boat crashed 30 miles off Qarabulli town, east of Tripoli.
The Coast Guard said the migrants floated for around 4 hours near their sunken rubber dinghy before the arrival of the patrol.
It added that the rescue was carried out in two separate operations because the patrol boat was not big enough to contain all the migrants.
Food and medical aid was provided to the migrants after their rescue, the Coast Guard said.
