Nearly 4.5 billion Libyan dinars of printed currency in Russia was sent to the parallel central bank in al-Bayda city east of Libya, between February and June, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

According to Reuters, Russian customs data confirm that four batches of categories of 20 and 50 dinars obtained customs approval from Russia in February, March, and June, the value of each batch estimated to be about one billion dinars.

It pointed out that the customs database, which was made publicly accessible, shows that around 175.7 tons of banknotes were shipped from Russia to Libya in 2018, an increase of about 24 tons from the year 2016.
