The Ministry of Health of the parallel government has warned of the circulation of a counterfeit cancer drug called Avastin 400mg/16ml.
The Ministry explained on its Facebook page that the product is used as an IV drip solution to treat cancer, and is not approved and unsafe for use, according to preliminary investigations conducted by Roche.
The Ministry called on hospitals and pharmacies to verify the source of the medicines and medical supplies being circulated, demanding avoiding using these counterfeit batches, stressing that it is working in cooperation with the competent authorities to track down the source of these products and take the necessary legal measures to ensure the safety of Libyan patients.
