Presidential Council Chairman Mohamed Menfi met with Chief of General Staff Mohamed al-Haddad and the Border Demarcation Committee in Tripoli on Monday.
Discussions focused on updates regarding Libya’s land and maritime borders, with al-Haddad emphasizing efforts to safeguard sovereignty and maintain accurate documentation.
The committee highlighted historical agreements, such as the 1910 treaty between French and Ottoman authorities, as the legal basis for Libya’s borders and noted recent initiatives, including the reconstruction of border markers with Tunisia in 2020.
They stressed ongoing coordination with neighbouring countries to combat smuggling, illegal migration, and security threats, reaffirming the stability of Libya’s borders under international law.
