The Commander of the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) of the Presidential Council, Idris Boukhmada, has warned all members of PFG against committing any act that might cause disruption of work in the oil fields and ports.

In a statement on Friday, the PFG demanded its members to continue work in securing the fields and facilities, and not to make any statements in the media under any circumstances, criticizing the calls for protests and insubordination.

The statement accused who carry out what it described such "shameful acts" of tampering with the only source of income in Libya and uses it as a means of blackmail or as a means of pressure to meet their demands, which will have disastrous consequences on the state.

It also stressed that their demands can be effectively promoted through institutionalized procedures in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in Libya.
