Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah has paid tribute to Ibrahim Rafida, the commander of the Al-Eisaar Battalion, who passed away on Tuesday following a sudden health issue.
In a statement shared on social media, Dbeibah described Rafida as a "loyal son of Misrata" and "a symbol of courage and dedication."
Rafida was among the first to join Libya's February Revolution and held leadership roles in both the Al-Eisaar and 154 Protection and Guard battalions. He played a key role in leading the southern front during the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous operation against ISIS in Sirte in 2016.
Remembering Rafida, Dbeibah said he was admired for his humility, noble actions, and unwavering loyalty to his country and people.
