The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has confirmed that the problems at the border crossings between Libya and Tunisia are mainly due to security and logistical reasons such as the disruption of security systems to register the entry and exit of travelers.

Dbeibah added to the Tunisian Mosaique FM that the Libyan and Tunisian authorities are always striving to find solutions to the problems that arise at the Ras Jdir crossing, which witnesses a heavy transit movement compared to the Dhiba crossing.

He also stressed that there are no political disruptions, as the region is going through a real security problem and the two countries are confronting terrorism, saying “we do not want to increase the number of crossing gates for security reasons, but if necessary, we may open other gates”.
