An adviser of Chairman of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj has justified the appointment of Emad Trabelsi, a militia leader from Zintan loyal to warlord Khalifa Hjaftar, as chief of the General Security Service to Sirraj’s desire to involve all parties in protecting Tripoli and to wipe off excuses of rival groups to ignite a war in the capital.
A group of the Eighth Battalion (Nawasi Brigade) protested outside the Presidential Council on Sunday, demanding the (PC) to overturn the decision immediately.
