Foreign Minister of Presidential Council Mohammed Siyala has demanded the Italian government to move the Italian field hospital from Misrata Airbase to Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport.

In a letter to his Italian counterpart Angelino Alfano, Siyala said this request came after a meeting with the head of the Italian mission, head of the Italian field hospital and director of Mitiga hospital to address the shortages of medical equipment and the readiness of the Italian side to train Libyan medical personnel and provide support and assistance to the Libyan side.

“This comes within the framework of the two countries’ distinguished relations and the urgent need for further cooperation and coordination in all fields,” the letter reads.
