The General Electricity Company has announced the launch of a project to produce electricity at the Zawiya Dual Power Plant, without use of fuel.

The company said that the project will be able to produce electricity with a capacity of 450 megawatts, and will contribute to reducing the cost of electricity production, and benefit from the dual cycle system to generate electricity without the need to burn fuel.

The company added that the project includes the implementation of major overhauls of three steam generation units, steam generators, and all accessories of the steam units, with a roadmap for implementing these overhauls according to specific timetables.
