Local residents in Mizda and Shiqiqah towns in Nafousa Mountain held a protest in front of the Mizda hospital on Thursday to demand the Ministry of Health to reject the resignation of Dr. Ali al-Kabbashi from his position as director of the hospital.
The protesters urged the Ministry of Health to provide the necessary support to the hospital as being the only general hospital in the region.
The hospital has proved very successful in the past period in performing the highest rate of surgery compared to other public hospitals.
Dr. Ali al-Kabbashi submitted his resignation on the backdrop of the failure to provide the hospital with the necessary support, which had its negative effect on the performance of the hospital, in addition to the inability to pay the salaries of its staff.
