The Public Prosecution has successfully reclaimed 61 properties allocated for power distribution stations in the capital, Tripoli, following a series of investigations into illegal commercial use of these sites.

Supervised by the Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office, inquiries uncovered widespread encroachments on properties owned by the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL). These properties had been unlawfully exploited for non-utility purposes.

In response, the Public Prosecution issued directives to remove all unauthorized uses from the properties, a task carried out by the General Administration for Electric Police.

The properties have now been restored to the company’s ownership, ensuring their intended use for power distribution.
