The Kremlin confirmed that the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, along with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussed the Libyan file during a phone call on Friday.

In a statement, the Kremlin added that Putin and Erdogan praised the end of hostilities and the recent formation of the Government of National Unity (GNU), confirming their readiness to promote the peace process and restore the unity of Libya.

The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a former conversation by phone with Putin, stressed that the opportunity for peace and stability in Libya should not be a wasted one.
