Qatar Fund for Development has concluded a cooperation agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to support the economic security program in Libya.

According to the Qatari-based newspaper Al-Sharq, the agreement came on the sidelines of the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries as a response to the urgent needs of those affected by the Libyan crisis.

Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, said the joint program supports the peace process by securing the people's essential needs, as well as enhancing their resilience and offering independence and self-sufficiency.

The President of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoleric-Eger, expressed her gratitude for the Qatari support for its projects aimed at helping families affected by the conflict in Libya.
