Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, held discussions in Tripoli with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hanna Tetteh, focused on advancing the political process in Libya.
The meeting, held on Sunday at the Qatari Embassy in Tripoli, addressed cooperation between Qatar and the United Nations particularly in supporting Libya’s political transition.
The two sides also reviewed ongoing UN efforts to promote security and stability in the country, according to the Qatar News Agency.
Al-Khulaifi reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering support for Libya’s unity, sovereignty, and the aspirations of its people for stability and development, confirming Qatar’s commitment to the UN-led political process, relevant Security Council resolutions, and peaceful solutions to the Libyan crisis.
