Head of the Projects Department at the Railways Project Execution and Management Authority, Fathi Mohammed, has confirmed the resumption of the implementation of three railway lines that have been suspended since 2011.

Mohammed said that the lines being implemented are the Ras Ajdir-Sirte line with a length of 600 km, the Sirte-Benghazi line with a length of 500 km, and the Al-Heisha-Sabha line with a length of 800 km, in addition to the design of the Benghazi-Tobruk railways with a length of 450 km, and Tobruk-Musaid with a length of 144 km.

Earlier, the Ministry of the Interior launched a security campaign to limit the encroachments on the railway track from the city of Tripoli towards the east, in preparation for the resumption of work on the project.
