Rescue workers affiliated with the Red Crescent of Sabratha branch have recovered 15 bodies on the city's coast, some of them burned in a boat and others on the beach, a member of the Red Crescent confirmed on Friday.

The organization said its team moved to the site after receiving a report from the local authorities about a boat with charred corpses on board it and other bodies lying around.

The rescue team transferred the victims to the city's hospital mortuary to undergo the remaining legal procedures.

There was no immediate word on the incident from the official authorities, while Reuters quoted sources from the city as saying that the bodies belonged to irregular migrants caught in a dispute between two rival groups of human traffickers in the northwest city.
