Libya's Public Prosecutor has ordered the detention of the General Director of the Sabratha Centre for Cardiac Surgery and Treatment, along with the centre's administrative and financial officer, on charges of financial corruption.

Investigations revealed that funds allocated for insurance contracts covering medical and paramedical professionals were misused in violation of the law. The suspects are also accused of forging documents to falsely claim the receipt of equipment and supplies, enabling them to obtain illicit financial gains.

The Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the officials were detained pending further investigation after their interrogation.
