The so-called Chief of Staff of Land Forces affiliated with warlord Khalifa Haftar’s armed groups, Saddam Haftar, met with the Chief of Staff of the Turkish Land Forces, Lt. Gen. Selcuk Bayraktaroğlu, at the Turkish Land Forces Command headquarters in the Çankaya district of the Turkish capital, Ankara.
A formal reception ceremony was held for Saddam upon his arrival, according to a statement from the Turkish Land Forces Command on its Facebook page on Friday.
No further details were provided about the purpose of this visit.
It is worth noting that Saddam Haftar had previously visited Turkey, attending the International Defense and Aerospace Exhibition SAHA EXPO 2024 in Istanbul last October, where he met with Turkish Defense Minister, Yaşar Güler.
