Former Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla, criticized the ongoing talk about scrapping the Ras Lanuf oil refinery with the aim of ‘underestimating’ its value, estimating it at zero or less, as he put it.

In a statement posted on his Facebook account, Sanalla praised those whom he described as rejectionist who refused to squander the refinery, which is in dispute with the UAE company Tarsta, pointing out that the talk about scrapping the refinery is not based on accurate technical data.

The NOC Media Department had said that a legal, financial and technical team was formed to present the available alternatives to end the process of closing the refinery.
