Sirte Oil and Gas Company has confirmed its constant communication and cooperation with the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), to provide the required quantities of gas to operate the power plants.

The Chairman of the Company, Abdullah Ashwaqi, indicated that work is underway to resume production at the Sahel field, as soon as the repair of the gas plant operation control system is completed, which partially affected the gas supply by about 30 million cubic feet at the last two days.

The GECOL confirmed the loss of 300 megawatts of output and an increase in load shedding hours, due to a decrease in the gas pressure feeding the North Benghazi and Zueitina power plants.
