The General Authority for Research and Identification of Missing Persons announced on Sunday the discovery of six bodies in a mass grave located in the Bir al-Usta Milad area of Tajoura.
According to the authority's statement on Facebook, the grave dates back to 2011, during Libya's liberation war against the Gaddafi regime, which spanned from February to October of that year. Efforts to recover additional bodies from the site are ongoing.
In late September, United Nations investigators voiced concerns about the ongoing cycle of violence in Libya, citing the recovery of 353 bodies from mass graves in Tarhuna, and highlighting the absence of justice in the country.
