Members of the Coordination Committee of the Solidarity Movement for Cancer Patients in the Western Region demanded the provision of treatment for cancer patients, threatening to shut down the Mellitah Oil Complex and Al-Zawiya Refinery if their demands were not answered.
Residents of Al-Zawiya, Sorman, Al-Jamil, Regdaline and Zliten held protests in solidarity with the members of the Coordination Committee of the Solidarity Movement for Cancer Patients, demanding the provision of cancer medications as soon as possible.
Last Tuesday, during his meeting with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, the Head of the National Cancer Control Authority, Haider Al-Sayeh, pledged to provide cancer patients with medications within a period of two weeks to three months, confirming that 23,000 patients had received the "Muhareb" (Fighter) card for this type of medical treatment.
