Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has stated that solving the Libyan crisis would solve illegal immigration and energy problems.

“We must ensure that an electoral solution is reached in Libya”, Tajani said in a statement after his arrival in Cairo, indicating that this can be achieved by agreement between the intervening parties, such as Egypt and Turkey, as well as Italy.

On Saturday, the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on a two-day visit to meet his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry.

According to the Italian Nova News Agency, the two sides' talks may issue topics related to cooperation in illegal immigration file, and regional challenges, including Libya.
