The Mayor-elect of Souq Al-Juma'a Hossam Belhaj on Wednesday took his oath before the Minister of Local Government after winning the mayor’s seat by a majority in a special election last June.
A group of officials attended the swearing-in ceremony, including the Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, Mustafa Ahmed Salem, the Director of the Governorates and Municipalities Affairs Department, Fathi Abdel-Samad, and the former mayor of Souq Al-Juma'a Municipality Hisham bin Youssef.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Minister of Local Government discussed with the new team the workflow in the municipality and their plans to improve the services for residents.
They also reviewed financial and administrative issues and the reorganization of staffing for the Souq Al-Juma'a municipality.
