Security sources affiliated to the units guarding the Sharara oil field in the southwest of the country confirmed the continuing of work and oil production in the field, denying any security breaches in the field or the surrounding area.

A security officer in charge said that the oil field is "secure", accusing some media outlets of sedition and undermining destabilization. He also assured that the country’s only source of income is a “red line”.

Earlier, field workers have confirmed the decline in production due to deteriorating security conditions in the vicinity of the field.
