Minister of Sports of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Shafi’ Al-Juwaifi, received Saturday athlete Ihsan Shalabi, who was crowned with two gold medals in weightlifting at the Arab Championships, recently held in Algeria.
Al-Juwaifi congratulated Shalabi, urging him to continue to shine in all international forums, stressing that the ministry will support outstanding Libyan athletes.
Champion Shalabi earned Libya two gold medals and two new records, after his brilliance in the snatch lifting by lifting 139 kg, as well as his brilliance in the prose weight lifting, when he was able to lift 174 kg, thus breaking two Libyan records in the prose lifting, as well as the total, for he collected 313 kg of the two-weight lifting.
