The National Center for Animal Health has convened a meeting with the head of the Tawergha Local Council, the coordinator of the town’s agriculture and livestock sector, and the director of the Tawergha branch of the Disease Control Department, to discuss mechanisms for activating the Animal Health office in the city.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the meeting agreed on steps to support the campaign against insect pests in Tawergha due to be launched next week.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Tawergha Municipal Council will also start another campaign to vaccinate breeding animals and conduct statistics for the livestock in the city.
The National Center for Animal Health had delivered, during the last period, a group of pesticides to the agricultural department in Tawergha in support of the national campaign aimed at combating insects, mainly sand flies, that cause leishmaniasis disease.
